Arnaldo Roche Rabell Mosaic Portrait

Arnaldo Roche Rabell has had various artistic periods in his career, ranging from the blue period, red period and most recently a mosaic period which undoubtedly is the most commercial and visual appealing from all. This period was introduce to the art community at an art exposition in San Juan February  2016, but earlier examples have surface dating it as far as 2007.

Pieces of dry oil where modified and cut to be apply in a subjective pattern to form anatomical structure, organic composition as flowers or in some cases abstract pattern which have a tendency to have bright bold colors to the composition. This type of art tends to be very tedious to execute, time consuming and required a large amount of time for the oil to dry in the superficial pictorial layer.

From the moment I laid my eyes in this recent period introduce in 2016 I knew that it was going to be a commercial success with small example measuring 12 x 16 selling over $7,000 to $8,000 range.  To this date no examples have been sold at mayor auction houses like Sotheby’s and Christie’s but I wound not be surprise that the acceptance by international market would be a positive one and demanding high dollar price for prime examples. s-l1600.jpg

Large examples like this required a strong premium ranging at a gallery prices setting of $50,000 dollars. Examples like this can be found on collection like the one in Europe owned by the King of Spain Felipe VI.  This periods turns away from the all the dark strong composition that Roche collector where used to in the 90’s and Early 2000. This mosaic period is a colorful, happy and easy to the eye work which will be consider one of the best periods of his career and don’t be surprise if it turns to be his most sought after works of art.
